Vogue For ME!!!

Have to say that I don't do Beauty Magazines because they make me feel bad;((( But for you I pick up a Vogue while waiting on the long line of shoppers to check out at the Wal-Mart! What I discovered about the Magazine is that there are tons of pictures of everything clothes, shoes, jewerly, and beautiful People everywhere!! We are such a spoiled society when it comes to visual expectations because we want everything to be just so and be pretty. I think the mass media as made us this way with all the pretty perfect pictures that they put in their magazines!!! I do enjoy all the new and different fashions because I love fashion so much it is one of my passions. Clothes are my friend I just love them and this magazine was full of all the things that me as a woman keeps me ticking. I guess if I could afford it and had time to read them that Vogue would definetly be something I would pick up at the register.

WKU is Smart!!!

Most colleges that aren't religious pretty much are all safe media they don't want to stir the pot I'm Sure!! Plus on top of all that they want to attract customers not keep them away thats why they keep it neutral a smart move if I say so myself!!! I'm sure their PR helped on that one LOL!! When browsing the WKU News their wasn't alot out of the ordinary pretty much just school news and events that are happening for the student. I think that it is just news you can use that tells you what is going and to get you interested in school happening. They are just keeping it lite and staying with the college news.

Can I Just Say I Hate You ADS!!!!

The thing that gets on my nerves more than anything else is Ads!!! Man they always take all the fun out of Television because it is like here's your dessert before dinner Oh hold on you have to take a bite of your Green Beans first LOL!!! Crazy Perspective I know but that is the way Commercials make me feel For Reals:))) I mean think about it you are just getting in to the story line of your show and all of a sudden BAM!!!!! Advertising Break BullS***!!! I'm I not paying for this Channel already why should I have to watch this crap or as I would say pay DOUBLE? I mean it is everywhere you can't even ride down the street without ADS they suck I think they are tacking and have the worst theme Songs EVER!!!! Which you would call Irriation Advertising LOL!!!! Which I would have to say it works because I have seen it first hand....in Radio and TV Commercial that is everywhere I have even seen it lately on peoples Facebook Statuses......Oh it's So Hot Don LOL!!!! Crazy I know but it sticks with you that much Oh Boy!!! The stupid Ads that I could remember from being a child would just explain the reasons why these People are still in the ad Business. Man the wasted memories that I so need on a Daily Bases LOL!!! At my age you know what I mean I could use that space for something useful.... But what can you do it is everywhere you can't escape it at all!!! I have to say they are shaping the who and the what is going to be for sure!!! They are so good at making the America Culture in to what it is today. For Example for all you Wine lover out there this is for you KISSES:)))) The Skinny Bitch Wine WTF is that about if you are a real wine drinker you aren't going to drink that crap you want the real thing!!! Oh Yeah:))))) Through it on ME!!! It was right at the register when you go to check out in my local town just saying what exactly are they trying to do to US!!! Like we don't get enough grief for our body image in other areas of the world!!! Ads aren't going anywhere even though we wish they would Sorry to deliver the bad NEWS but it is all about the Benjamin Baby commercial make that perfectly clear!

Got BOOKS??? They do a Brain Good!!!

Books are the beginning of everything with out them we would have Nothing!!! They are here are history comes from, where we learn from, they entertain us, and they are the oldest mass media their is. Books have had more effects on us then we probably know!! I think movies wouldn't be where they are today if it wasn't for books they have brought our imagination to life!! I'm not a big book reading because I don't have time to do a lot of reading but I have seen movies that are were books first and it made me want to read the book too!! My daughter loves to read she is really in to the Vampire Stuff that is really big right now. I think books will be around for a long time because people enjoy reading books and not just e-readers!! Like someone said to me that is a big book reader and refuses to buy an e-reader because she said that it makes it to inpersonal and that if you dont buy the book then how are you going to go to a book signing of your favorite author or book if you don't own the actually book!! Sounds kind of silly to me too and makes perfect sense to me. Books aren't going anywhere people enjoy getting paper books and having them on their shelf it shows their character and who they are!! So book companies don't have anything to worry about!! Books are here to stay for a long while;))))

Where Art Thou Magazines???

Magazines Oh the things I can say about YOU!!! # 1 I have a love, hate relationship with them!! # 2 I love reading all the tips (that I never use lol), looking at all the latest fashions (that I can't wear or afford to wear), and reading all the advise that they give it is Hilarious!! Besides all that it is like a between the show long nightmare that never ends. I mean that it is like commercial after commercial never a break besides the fact that it is on a page and you can just turn it!! Magazines sometimes are my worst nightmare because of all the skinny BLEEP in them lol!! It makes you think about wanting to look like that and Man face it you are never going to look that perfect..... I mean for goodness sakes they have been airbrushed after being photographed so that is a NO GO!! Anyways who needs any more media telling us that we look bad for REALS!! It is like everywhere you turn don't do this, don't eat that, don't wear this and don't do that enough with the perr pressure already we are just people trying to be ourselves!! So what I'am trying to say is Just Let ME do ME because I'm good at that and I will be the best ME I can be sorry to harp on that but it seems like every where we turn someone is busy telling US!!! That we aren't good enough until we have this or look like that or eat this or try that STUPID and these people are making bank....We are paying for this stuff for Real I can't believe it!! So let me get this straight we are paying for one more thing that is bad for US who knew!!! Don't get me wrong there are magazines out there that are awesome and are great for learning and those are the ones like teach said that are good for our brains that we are probably not reading because we are worried about other things. I think that magazines will be around for a little bite longer but soon we will be able to just download our favorites on our iPhones or computers that we can carry around with us. So just like everything else that has went to computers like books we have e-readers and stuff we will have e-magazines lol can I go ahead and copyright that?? I like reading magazines more than books because I know it is a quick read and I'am all about that!!

Newspaper's ~N~ Danger???

I hate to admit this but I don't read the newspaper unless one of my kids are in it, I'm looking for a job, looking to buy something or going to yard sales. I know I'm a bad girl LOL!! I wish I did have more time to actually sit down and read the newspaper but I dont. I think maybe that's why newspapers are going under or at least one reason a couple of others I think is our culture is going GREEN and man printing papers isn't exactly saving tree sorry for the bad humor...Anyways for real most people have apps on their phone that give them their news they need to know. When not on your phone on the computer I mean really how hard is it to just google the latest news NOT hard at all. You go to any major website like MSN, Yahoo, and AOL they do the work for you but that's not your local news. I would have to say that with all this other types of news it takes out the personal touch on events that are happening around you. Like for example our newspaper in my very small commuity reports on everything that is happening or is going to happen. I took my son the other day to a reading program at the library where they are trying to keep kids reading throughout the summer which I think is great because like they say "If you don't use it you lose it!!!" I had no idea that it was going to be in the paper but the next week sure enough the kids that attended had their picture taken and it was in the paper along with an article about the program. I think this is the kind of stuff that will go overlooked if we lose our newspapers. So in this case I feel that we still need our newspapers. I asked a couple of people how they felt about their newspaper and they said that for them the newspaper is a must! It is part of their daily routine, part of their culture, and plays a big role in a small town. It is a way to get the little voices out there heard. Don't get me wrong I might not read the paper but I think it is something that will be around for a long time we need it just to unplug ourselves from everything and listen to the small but important voices around us and get involved in your community and a newspaper can help you do that. Rock-On Newspapers and Where would we be without the Paper Boy!!!

Can we do Foreign Right??

I would have to say that I don't know all about foreign countries or their culture besides what I see on Tv, Movie's, and learn in school. I enjoy learning about different countries and their culture. I think sometimes as Americans we think our way is best but how do we really know? Is beause we are a Free country does that make our ways better than anyone elses? I think that we should always be open minded and up for learning about new different ways of life. A  movie for me that come to mind when thinking about american movie's that have foreign aspects in it I would have to say Eat, Pray, Love was a really good view on foreign culture and their life. I felt that this was a movie that didn't give the american perceptive it actually took it all in and I like that because for me you are learning, and being entertained. I do tend to see some american movies that do stereo type but not just for other countries they do it with different races and people in our own country so this is not something new. I think the movie industry is always trying to appeal to it's audience which are americans so you are going to see americanized view of what we think it's like out there!! I think alot of times in movies we always seem to be the smarter more advanced culture and everyone else is kind of behind the times. Which in alot of ways is true because we have all kinds of different culture in our country.
